Globe Valves are typically installed with flow and pressure acting beneath the plug to ensure optimal sealing and control. These valves are inherently bi-directional and are predominantly employed for precise throttling applications. Extended operation at openings less than 10% is discouraged due to potential issues such as excessive vibration, flow-induced noise, and accelerated wear or damage to the plug and seat surfaces. When utilized as bypass valves, the globe valve’s pressure class rating must meet or exceed that of the associated pipeline or primary valve to ensure system integrity and safety.
