About Butterfly Valve

Butterfly Valves are quarter-turn rotary valves used to regulate or isolate flow in pipelines. They feature a circular disc mounted on a shaft that rotates 90° to open or close the valve. In the closed position, the disc seals against the valve body to stop flow; in the open position, it aligns with the flow to minimize pressure drop. Butterfly valves are compact, offer quick operation, and are suitable for large flow volumes under moderate pressure.

Advantages of Butterfly Valves

  • They are self-actuated and require no external means to actuate the valve either to open or close. They are fast acting.
